"I like the word "indolence." It makes my laziness seem classy." - Bern Williams

Hollywood squirrel for saskia (she took the picture) - wanna add a background, but I have no clue what to draw yet and I don't wanna mess it up. Waiting for a flash of genius.
This was practicing with aquarell, ink, ecoline and fine liners.

What else did I do today? I don't wanna talk about it!

"May the force be with you" - Yoda

Today was a poor day. Did not work much, but sometimes you have to take a day off to get new energy - or so...
Spend the night sorting my aquarelle colors, making a test sheet to see how the colors look like, preparing paper and trying landscape paintings. I can now report: It still isn't my cup of tea!
Those colors are driving me crazy. They are either too wet or too dry, too light or too dark, merging too much or totally not and more nice stuff like that. I bought really nice brushes, but apparently they still are not good enough. (Hope santa will bring me some marten hair brushes of any size :) Anyways - I really wanna be friends with those colors, found some really nice examples how to use them and I want to use them! So I'll practice until my fingers bleed! :p
Mustn't forget my school assignment - already behind the time! But in dutch you say: Het komt alles maar goed! Let's hope for that!

Colors sorted in warm and cold colors, like i read it in my aquarelle book. What a model student I am...

My 70s color palette - leftover from my mother's aquarellebox

First try - aaaargh!

second try - still aaaaaaarrgghhhhh!!!

"Be able to draw an illustration at least well enough to get your point across to another person." - Marilyn vos Savant

Today at work, I was using my free time to read a lot about using aquarellcolors and understand birds. I have some art books where they explain how to use aquarell properly, but i'm still not convinced. For me it always looks like housewife hobby painting... but okay I want to learn how to master those colors and use them for my works, so they will look cool and do what I want!
My bird studys were often interrupted by customers (problem with drawing at work) but it was a start to see how birds are build, why they move how they do and how you draw them in a balance so the won't look like they fall over :p
Also had some new ideas, based on the big bird skeleton - they look really cool without skin!
Tonight I won't draw, drink a beer instead (or two) and tomorrow I'll work on my Illustration assignment, develop a proper concept^^
Prost! :)

Strange bird with no equilibrium

Cute bird skeleton - I wanna do something with this one.

"That has always been a nightmare for me, colouring in." - John Vernon Lord

Had a really hard day at school. Got a lot of critics from my drawing teacher. On the one hand, this is good, because i want to improve, on the other hand it was really exhausting listening one hour to improvement suggestions. Now I really wanna show her that i take her critics serious and go on trying with color. Oh yeah - and I still don't get the artistic value of aquarell color.
Maybe I have to work on my patience too and get a bit more into landscapes...^^ I'll give it a go, but I really like it quick and aquarell always messes up my outlines.

The bird I made today at school - it shows a lot of my eagerness :D

CityChaos - Collage - Fine Liner - Aquarell

Found something - Aquarell - Fine Liner - Alternative perspective

Free Head - Fine Liner - Aquarell and it's transparency^^ - with landscape whoohooo!

Those stuff I made for revision. It was about playing with perspective and color. I painted them all in one night and i think, one can see it. Didn't pass - so it was a wasted night, but I kindof like them.
Will make some alternative drafts for my Falling picture - need more white and alternative colors!
I really need a lightbox!

Sketching

Sketchbook busyness
Movement and proportion studys

Fur studys

Easy Fur and eyes

Color test

This one is only for trying color - made it with ecoline ink and my new paintbrushes. I'll start a series called: furry stories. I like monsters :)

Assignment for Illustration class: How do I feel with illustration at the moment. Tried to not make it too colorful.

I'm starting now to experiment with color. It's really improvable, but by now i'm quite satisfied with my first try outs. It will go ooooon and oooon an oooon :) I really start to like this and i can't stop drawing right now! yaaay finally!!!
